SIMO HEISKANEN RECITES MIRKKA REKOLA’S POEMS IN THE YARDS OF RESIDENTIAL HOMES IN ESPOO IN AUGUST 2020

Glims & Gloms opens the autumn season with Simo Heiskanen’s solo performance with previews of I forgot what a big house I live in in the yards of residential care homes in Espoo. In this performance, Heiskanen recites Mirkka Rekola’s poems singing, reciting and dancing.

The dramatic work I forgot what a big house I live in  combines movement and human voice. The past, the present and premonitions of the future meet. Mirkka Rekola’s poems, recited and sung, act as the thread of the performance. The work, composed by Simo Heiskanen, weaves together the fleeting nature of life and the randomness of human memory. The dance steps of the past grow into a choreography that awakens remembrance. The visualization of the work – movement and costumes create associations that are recurring poetic images in Rekola’s poems – the spirits of the sea, the changing of seasons. The work provokes thought and challenges spectators of all ages with its complex language and expression to be attentive and have an inner dialogue with Rekola’s poetry.

Glims & Gloms produces the preview tour of Minä unohdin miten suuressa talossa asun together with Espoo city’s project Culture Chain. The tour performances are mainly targeted at residents of the residential care homes. At Elä ja asu -senior citizen center’s  yard in Kauklahti, a performance open for other customers of the house is arranged on Thursday, August 20 at 1:30 PM.

The theatre premiere of the work will be in spring 2021.

Suomen Kulttuurirahasto myönsi helmikuussa 2020 Glims & Gloms Kauppakeskusteatterin toimintaan 110 000 euron apurahan, joka mahdollistaa Kauppakeskusteatterin kiertuetoiminnan tulevina vuosina eri puolilla Suomea. Ensimmäiseksi Kauppakeskusteatteri palaa Skanssin kauppakeskukseeen 27.3.-7.4.2020.

Kauppakeskusteatteri on Glims & Glomsin ideoima ja konseptoima pop up  -kiertueteatteri, joka tarjoaa koko perheen teatteriesityksiä helposti saavutettavasti. Nyt rahoitettavan hankkeen aikana volyymia kasvatetaan nykyisestä kahdesta kauppakeskuksesta kuuteen kauppakeskukseen vuodessa. Kauppakeskusteatterin ohjelmistossa on 7-9 eri teosta vuosina 2020-23.

Glims & Gloms on kehittänyt Kauppakeskusteatterikonseptia puolentoista vuoden ajan. Tähän mennessä Kauppakeskusteatteri on toiminut Entressen kauppakeskuksessa Espoossa ja Skanssin kauppakeskuksessa Turussa.

Tällä kertaa Kauppakeskusteatteri tuo Skanssiin Simo Heiskasen ja Kaisa Niemen DJ Mölytoosa ja Mummu -esityksen, joka on äänekäs ja hykerryttävä komedia Pölymöly -nimisen radioaseman vauhdikkaasta aamupäivästä. Katsoja pääsee Pölymölyn studioon näkemään kommelluksia ja vastoinkäymisiä, jotka eivät onneksi radiokuuntelijoille välity.

Pölymölyn ohjelmat ovat kokeilevia ja ennakkoluulottomia. Lähetyksessä tanssitaan, leivotaan ja osallistutaan jopa olympialaisiin. Uutiset luetaan laulaen ja Kilauta kaverille -ohjelmaan saadaan vieraaksi itse herra Odobenus Rosmarus eli Mursu.
